Give Books

We need donations of books that are difficult to source in Tanzania. For example:

• children's books, both fiction and non-fiction
• young adult books, both fiction and non-fiction
• adult books, both fiction and non-fiction
• dictionaries, both English and English-Swahili
• resources specifically for people learning English as a second language
• resources for environmental literacy education
• school readers
• teacher resources
• magazines 
 

As we receive books they will be added to our "LibraryThing" - an online catalogue - and we ask you to search this before giving books to us so we can avoid duplication of titles. To see what books we have so far, click on the LibraryThing box on the left side of this page. Our LibraryThing also includes a wishlist of books that we would love to have in our library, and you may consider donating to the project.

Please note that we will only accept used books that meet the following conditions:

• no pages are missing, torn or falling out
• covers are intact
• information is not out-of-date (we prefer non-fiction material to be less than 10 years old)
• information is not country-specific, unless it is about Tanzania (for example, we don't want Australian History books but Tanzanian History books would be great)

If you are able to cover any books with contact or similar material prior to donating them, we would really appreciate it.
